Our Inspiration

The inspiration for creating Pure Games, Inc. came from a church small group party in December of 2004. Our group decided to play a murder mystery game for our annual Christmas party. One of the ladies, volunteered to do the research and find a church friendly game for us to play. She searched the web, chose a game, paid $50 for it through their online store, and attempted to download it. That is where her trouble started. The website was so confusing that it took her about two weeks to learn how to download it. Once downloaded, she spent a ton of time emailing the group a description of the available characters and solving problems when multiple people wanted to play the same character. She then printed out the parts and being careful not to look at anyone’s part, put them in envelops and handed them to each of us the next time our small group was together. She was a bit exasperated by the process and vowed to never host this type of party again.

At the time of the party we all arrived in our suggested attire and began to play as suggested. Unfortunately the story was very weak and it was easy to determine that the killer was the only one without a solid alibi. In addition, even after purchasing the “church group friendly” version, a 14 year old boy in our group was assigned a fairly “unfriendly” part.  His character was a gynecologist that was supposed to be flirting with the women at the party, asking them to come over to his place for a free exam. This of course ruined the night for him.

It was fun being with our friends, but we left that night with a very poor impression of the company through which we purchased the game. We had paid $50 and were expecting an excellent game. After the party my wife commented for several days that we could have written a much better story. The timing was right; at the end of that month we were scheduled to close the books on a Web Development company that I had run for about five years. Instead of closing the company we started a wholly owned subsidiary called Pure Games, Inc.  And I was given the opportunity to design a website that incorporated the latest technology to provide fun high quality games to others. What a fun job!

We Are Committed to Excellence!

Because of our prior experience with the “church group friendly” game and because of who God is in our lives we vowed from the beginning that we would not sell any game unless it was excellent. To ensure that we never forget that standard we established a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee policy. This also means that if you’re not quite sure a particular game or genre is one you would enjoy, you can try it risk free.

Our System Makes Hosting a Dinner Party Game Simple and Easy

Once you purchase a game, simply:

  • Fill out the invitation form
  • Add the email addresses of your guests
  • Click the “Send Invitations” button from the Preview Invitation page

The website takes care of the rest. It will send the invitations, allow those invited to accept or decline, choose the character they wish to play and send them their part.

Murder Mysteries are not enough!

Because I have vast experience playing games in almost every form (I was president of a game club and have run a number of game conventions), it was not enough for me to only create murder mysteries. I enjoy murder mysteries and know our customers will have fun playing these games, but I would also like to introduce our customers and their friends to a much broader line of dinner party games know as Virtual Adventure Party’s™. Pure Games will “Bring Dinner Theater To Your Home™” through many unique genres’ including: Treasure Hunters, CSI (Crime Scene Investigators), You Be The Jury, Scavenger Hunters, Unsolved Mysteries, Lost & Found, Amnesia, Time Travel, Missing Persons, and many more. As these games become available, announcements will be made in our Newsletter.
